Research Intelligence (RI) revolves around the collection, enrichment and analysis of information on science to create novel insights to support strategic decision making and assessments at different individual, team, institute or topic levels, while taking into account the background of existing policies and mission statements.
At the core of RI lies the availability of tools and information sources such as bibliographic databases and university research information systems.
In addition, more and more internal and external data sources are harvested for other types of research information such as funding, HR, and knowledge transfer (both to technology in the form of (or via) patents and to society).
